Some Suggestions
Simple solid colours and long sleeves are generally the best clothing choice to keep the focus on the subject. With groups consider how you will look together. Groups should wear similar clothing and avoid prints, patterns, logos and bright colours that would clash. Consider matching darks with darks, pastels with pastels, earth tones such as browns and greens, and cool tones such as blues and whites. Using your home, cottage, or a place with sentimental ties will increase the value of the portrait as a keepsake. I have a portable studio for whatever suits you best.
